48 Hours in Denver: A Relaxing Weekend

Denver is known for it’s excellent beer scene and beautiful mountain views, but if you want a weekend itinerary that is a little more rest and relaxation and a little less day drinking and hikes look no further than our 48-hour relaxation weekend!

Where to Stay: Hotel Born

Hotel Born is perfectly located steps from Union Station (hassle free trips from the airport are always a win). The atmosphere feels luxurious, but overly stuffy. They’ve put a lot of thought into the common spaces, so you can truly feel at home. Not to mention their little treats like yoga mat turn down service and passes to the Denver Athletic Club.

Lunch @ Citizen Rail

After dropping off your bags at the front desk, venture a little further into Hotel Born into one of their 2 in house restaurants, Citizen Rail. If the weather is warm enough, enjoy your lunch on their patio.

Blow Outs Mani Pedis @ Oxford Hotel

After finishing up at Citizen Rail take a quick walk (3 blocks) around the corner to The Oxford Hotel. Another gorgeous downtown Denver hotel, this one with an amazing spa! Enjoy your afternoon with blowouts and mani pedis for all!

Shopping @ The Dairy Block

If you’ve got some time post-glam, stroll over to the Dairy block to enjoy some shopping. Or enjoy a cup of coffee at Huckleberry Roasters or a predinner drink at Poka Lola Social Club.

Dinner @ Rioja

For dinner head to Rioja for Mediterranean cuisine with a local twist. If Mediterranean isn’t your style you’ll find lots of great options in Larimer Square, one of Denver’s most historic blocks (Osteria Marco & Tamayo are two of our other favorites).

Show @ Denver Performing Arts Complex

End the night with a show! The DPAC is the largest non-profit theater company in the country. There is almost always a show playing in several of the nine theatre. Ballets, operas, musicals, plays, or symphonies, just pick your poison!

Saturday Morning

Yoga @ Denver Athletic Club

After your night out, reset with a quick visit across the street to the Denver Athletic Club. Day passes are included with your Hotel Born stay, so grab your girls and head to a Saturday morning yoga class.

Brunch @ Snooze

After stretching it out head to Denver’s favorite brunch at Snooze. Prepare yourself for a bit of a wait, but trust me, it’ll be worth it.

Massages & Body Treatments @ The Brown Palace Spa

Spend Saturday afternoon enjoying spa treatments at one of Denver’s best spa’s. Located in one of Denver’s most historic and notable hotels, the spa at Brown Palace is home to a whole host of treatments. If you finish your day early, enjoy afternoon tea is one of Denver’s beloved traditions.

Dinner @ Tavernetta

Head back to Hotel Born to get ready for dinner. You won’t have to travel very far since you’ll be dining at Hotel Born’s second in house restaurant, Tavernetta, tonight. At Tarvernetta, you’ll enjoy some of Denver’s best Italian food with homemade pasta and a killer wine list.

Bar @ The Highlands

If you are still looking for something to do post dinner, head to the Highlands home to lots of interesting cocktails bars. My personal favorite is the Ste. Ellie, an intimate cocktail bar with a fun twist on classic drinks. Other good options include William & Graham or The Family Jones.

Sunday Morning

Breakfast @ Linger

It’s you’re last morning in Denver, and you’re headed back to the Highlands to try Linger, a restaurant housed in an old mortuary. As odd as it may sound, Linger does an excellent job blending their slightly creepy roots into a fun and interesting dining experience.
