Brené Brown’s Netflix special, The Call to Courage, is amazing (and I’m not just saying that because I’m an unapologetic Brené Brown stan). If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor, stop your Internet scrolling, and go watch it immediately. Brené’s a shame and vulnerability researcher and talks about how we can live joyful and courageous lives. If you have already seen it, then you know it is spectacular and now you can give a gift that will help others to live their bravest lives.
“The Woman in the Arena” Print ($7)- This print contains the Roosevelt arena speech that Brené references in several of her books (although the pronouns have been switched to she). This would make the perfect gift for your friend who is starting some new challenge in her life!
Gratitude Journal ($12)- People who have daily gratitude practices are more joyful in their everyday lives. So pretty much you are giving people joy with a gratitude journal.
Be Brave & Kind Tee ($34)- The perfect reminder for how we should live our lives.
I Am Brave Necklace ($34)- “Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.” –Brené Brown
Courage or Comfort Mug ($18)- What better than the classic Brené Brown quote “You can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you cannot have both” to accompany your morning cup of coffee.
Dare Greatly Bracelet ($45)- “Daring greatly is being brave and afraid every minute of the day at the exact same time.” –Brené Brown
Braving the Wilderness ($15)- This book talks about belonging and community. Reading this book drastically changed the way I thought about the current political climate and how I interact with it. It would make a great gift for anyone, but especially someone entering a new community, whether that is moving or changing jobs or even graduating college.
Rising Strong ($12)- In Rising Strong Brené talks about how to recover from failures and try again. This is one of my favorite books of all time. I think everyone should read it. It’s the perfect gift for literally everyone. Give it to your best friend. Give it to your mom. Give it to your dog. Give it to your grandma.
Daring Greatly ($10)- Talks about the importance of courage and vulnerability. It covers a lot of the foundational ideals of Brené’s work and is a great starting point if you’re just hopping on the vulnerability train. It would be a great gift for someone who feels stuck or stagnate in his or her life.
The Gifts of Imperfection ($9)- On Brené’s website, she recommends this book as the first you should read. It works through the concept of discovering self-love and being yourself.
