Fall is by far my favorite season. The air has gotten crisp and we get to break the booties and sweaters out of our closets, but as a wedding guest, this season presents some challenges. I'll break down some of the things I look for when selecting wedding guest dresses for fall and then I'll share a few of my favorite picks from this season.
Colors: The fall color palette shifts a bit every year, but you are pretty safe to embrace deeper jewel tones as part of your dress selection. Rich burgundies, emerald greens, mustards, and navy are beautiful hues that while embracing the cooler weather and don't look like funeral attire.
Fabrics: Perhaps even more than color, the fabric that you select for your dress will help to determine its seasonal appropriateness. I love velvets, knits, satin, and fall florals. While I like to save most of my sequins for weddings in winter, embracing fabric with a little extra shine and shimmer can make something feel a little more formal.
