Our Planet Inspired Gift Guide

I love giving gifts that give back in some way to something bigger. Inspired by the beautiful Netflix mini-series Our Planet, each of these gifts either gives back to an environmentally focused charity or provide a small way to be a little greener in everyday life.

Porter Ceramic Bowl ($42)- This bowl is the chic version of the random Tupperware from your fridge. It’s the perfect solution for packing lunches! No plastic waste necessary.

Bamboo Cutlery ($13)- Plastic silverware is almost always a given for take-out food, but it doesn’t need to be. This bamboo silverware set is the perfect thing to throw in your purse, so you can avoid using the plastic stuff. (Combine this with the bowl for the perfect lunch set!)

Thred-up Gift Card- Fast fashion has one of the largest environmental impacts of any industry. Buying one used piece of clothing instead of a new piece has the same impact on your carbon footprint as removing 500,000 cars from the road for a year!*

Reusable Sandwich Bags ($42)- Reusable sandwich bags have all the convenience of regular plastic Ziplocs, but you can use them over and over again. Plus these come in fun colors.

Sock Bundle ($55)- This sock bundle allows you to pick any of your three favorite socks! They have a great selection of animals and some fun extras like these avocado socks. And all proceeds from the socks benefit the World Wildlife Foundation!

Silicone Straws ($25)- #savetheturtles Everyone is moving away from plastic straws, but if paper and metal aren’t your jam, these silicon straws are a flexible and soft alternative, plus they come with a carrying case, so you can take them out on the town.

Hydroflask ($43)- If the silicon straws weren’t enough, now you can officially be a VSCO girl with your very own Hydroflask. Plastic water bottles are so last decade.

Make-up Erasers ($20)- Make-up wipes are any easy thing to move from disposable to reusable with this cute set from make-up eraser. All you need to do is add water and it will wash away even your toughest make-up (I swear, it’s like magic). This set comes with enough cloths for the week!

Charity Pot ($8+)- This tub of lotion gives back! 100% of the price (minus taxes) goes towards various organizations working on everything from human rights to environmental protection.

Oceans Tee ($36) – If they are more of a water person, than a land lover, this tee may be the perfect gift. Proceeds from the t-shirt sales benefit the Orca Network who works to promote safety and awareness for whales in the northwest.
